Absolutely, and thank you for your comment.

However, no-one needs to go to the trouble of avoiding contact with environmental triggers, or run the gauntlet of asthma drug side effects, now that helminthic therapy is available.

For a general explanation of this therapy, see:

http://blog.autoimmunetherapies.com/gut_buddies/helminthic-therapy/

and, for specific evidence about it's application to asthma, see:

http://autoimmunetherapies.com/candidate_diseases_for_helminthic_therapy_or_worm_therapy/asthma_helminthic_therapy.html

If you live outside the US, this treatment can be delivered to your door, while US citizens need to travel outside this country to collect a dose of helminths, following the FDA's recent embargo on the production and shipping of helminths within the US.

The lung is the main organ of the respiratory system and its main function is respiration (exchange of gases between the environment and the body). Air enters the nose where it is filtered, warmed and humidified. After passing through the trachea (windpipe), the air travels into the lungs through the bronchi (a system of branching airway tubes that become smaller as they reach deeper into the lung). The smallest of the bronchi, the bronchioles, open into balloon-like sacs called alveoli.
An asthma attack occurs when these airways narrow and the muscles around them tightly contract (this is called bronchospasm). The membranes lining the inner walls of the airways become swollen and inflamed, and the glands within these walls produce excess mucus.

An asthma attack can be brief or it can last for several days.

Though not curable, asthma can be controlled by taking medication and by avoiding contact with environmental "triggers" for asthma.

Thanks for your kind comments. Unfortunately, I can't help with the info you are seeking re templates and plug-ins, because much of the basic set-up of this blog was done by my host. However, I can say that I am very impressed by the WordPress platform, which does seem to have many excellent built-in features and plenty of scope for development. I certainly find the mechanics of the blog are straightforward and intuitive, and would certainly use WordPress again in preference to other options.

Nice discussion and I like your input. Moderator question. I are making plans to install wordpress ourselves. Will you share a good resource for templates and the best plug ins to make it easy for staff to update content in a nice user friendly way? Thx in advance.

As helminthic therapy is a pioneering treatment, the numbers who have tried it are still small, and the individuals represent quite a wide range of allergic and autoimmune conditions. So far, I only know of the two of us who have tried it for rhinitis, and, as you have seen above, we are both very happy with the result.

According to the statistics published by Autoimmune Therapies, the overall response rate for all the disorders that they have treated now stands at 74 % of people showing consistent clinical improvement following inoculation with hookworm. The average time to improvement was 3.7 months and the average degree of improvement was 4.0 on a 5-point scale (significant improvement).

If you exclude those with Ulcerative Colitis - the only condition to consistently show a less good response to hookworm (but not whipworm) - the overall rate of response is 80 %.

Combine these figures with the fact that the two of us who have tried hookworm for rhinitis have had such a good response, and the odds look pretty good.

Follow the links in the piece above to learn more about the treatment generally.
